Embroidered Shift Dress

Seattle has been unusually hot these past few days, and in the midst of this impromptu heat wave I find myself enthusiastically celebrating an excuse to finally wear summer dresses. This embroidered shift dress from Anthropologie is my favorite dress because it has a vintage flair while still remaining feminine and elegant.

I never thought I could pull off shift dresses due to the fact that I normally find them tight and baggy in all of the wrong places. Yet mysteriously, this dress fits like a dream. Anthropologie works their magic once again!

The embroidery makes enough of a statement so that accessorizing proves simple and painless. I added a little embellishment with my favorite J.Crew bracelet, gladiator wedges, and my signature Marc Jacobs tote.

Dress - Anthropologie | Bracelet - J.Crew | Purse - Marc Jacobs
Lipstick - Chanel | Shoes - Target | Nail Polish - "Bikini So Teeny" by Essie

I wore this outfit to a lovely lunch with my dear friend Annalise of (anna) la mode, where I indulged on a frozen mojito and a delicious Santa Fe chicken salad from Earl's in Bellevue. Yum.

A big thanks to Annalise for being my photographer for the day! (If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you should. She is hands-down my most fashionable friend, so it goes without saying that her blog is amazing!)

  1. OOOh, looking good! Love the lace dress. It's so delicate and feminine. And the gold jewelry adds the perfect amount of "bling", keeping it so classy! I had such a fun day with you! You make taking photos so easy : )
